Job Description/ Duties:

With over 30 programs, we offer treatment, prevention, growth and education services to more than 23,400 people annually. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substitute Assistant Teacher to join our team of talented professionals.  


Qualifications: Must have a CDA credential or be enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within 2 years. Associate degree in early childhood education or child development preferred. Good understanding of child development, age appropriate behaviors, common childhood behavior challenges and appropriate interventions.

Additionally you must be able to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted in order to assist children during emergencies. Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of our students, families, business partners and of the people in the programs represented by The Guidance Center.  Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations.

Preferred: 2 years experience working with children in Federal or State funded, center based preschool programs. Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish. Experience implementing a research based and research validated curriculum. Working hours are up to 29 per week Monday through Friday.
